š The party theyāll be talking about for years
There are parties. And then there areĀ partiesā¦
You know, the parties you remember for decades. The āI was there!ā parties. Like Woodstock, or Y2K, or that perfect destination wedding.
This is what ourĀ Knit Stars Flagship Store Grand Opening CelebrationĀ October 1+2 is shaping up to be.
On opening day, weāll reveal the new Hot Loops wall. And this isnāt just any Hot Loops Wall. Our featured dyer for the new wall is none other thanā¦
LolaBean Yarn Company.
For almost a year, Iāve been cooking up a plan with Adella, the fabulous, genius artistic mind behind LBC. Recently, I was with Adella and her family in Atlanta (the reason for that was yet another secret...to be revealed in the coming weeks). I was even lucky enough to get a spontaneous hair style by the one-and-only Tahani - Lolaās alter ego international hair designer. (āYour hair is just like Barbie!ā she said. š)
Then, right across from the new Hot Loops Wall will be another full project-based wall of Loops Luxe yarns. Expanding on the wild popularity of our bespokeĀ Royal Alpaca + Silk yarn, weāll be bringing in three new bespoke yarn bases, each with our trademark project inspo.Ā
And all of this on top of a slew of other featured dyer walls, custom bags, notions and goodies celebrating the Grand Opening, plusā¦
Have I mentioned there will be wine?
A whole bar, in factā¦ š·āļø
When we tell you this will be a yarn store experience like no other, weāre not messing around!
There are still some time slots available for you to join us in person. You canĀ RSVP hereĀ and learn more about how to haveĀ fun in T-town hereĀ (there's plenty of culture to be explored, and the food is amazing!).
If youāre not able to be here in person, weāre planning a virtual Hot Loops Wall and Loops Luxe Wall party the week after the Grand Opening. Watch for details on that coming soon.
xoxo

Francoiseās design was inspired by the "KÄkÄ Beak," also known as the "Ngutu KÄkÄ" flower. The Ngutu KÄkÄ is a motif in MÄori art. The motif can be seen represented in the lacework throughout the pattern.
The color for this collaboration was created in the dye pots of Knit Star dyer Adella Colvin of LolaBean Yarn Co. She took her inspiration from that same flower and made it shine in this rich, saturated colorway.

As a lover of yarn, itās always hard for me to throw any of it away.. Even when I wind a skein into a yarn cake, it makes me a little sad to throw those colorful little ends I snip away. Iāve always held out hope that there would be a use for these little bits of color, and itās as if Hedgehog Fibres read my mind.Ā
Hedgehog TweedyĀ is an environmentally conscious, recycled tweed yarn. This DK weight wool is available in taupe-grey or Noir (black), with tweedy bits from Hedgehog's own tiny bits and bobs of yarn from tied up skeins. The effect is a neutral with a little flash of color here and there.ĀTheĀ Flicker and Flame hat by Andrea MowryĀ is the perfect showcase for this fun yarn, and one skein each of the light and dark color is enough to make two hats as shown above - one for you, and one for a friend. Find the Flicker and Flame pattern on Ravelry.
Or, go all in on a sweater, like Carmen shared in our our Knit Stars Masterclass Owners group! Carmen's Planetary sweater is wow-worthy inĀ Hedgehog Tweedy. This pattern, by Melanie Berg, is available on Ravelry.

Knit Stars Masterclass Tip
Season One Knit Star Amy Small is the artist behindĀ Knit Collage yarn, known for its unique textures and accents.
You can often find Amy at vintage shops, flea markets, and thrift stores searching for color and design inspiration for her yarns. She is always on the lookout for āstitch ideas, color combinations, trims, yarns, embroideries, all that good stuff!āĀ
Amy really tends to gravitate towards the 1960 and 1970ās era of fashion and color and is obsessed with chunky, bulky yarn. The inspiration she finds on her shopping strips can often be found woven in as trims and fabrics right into her yarns!Ā Ā
Learn how Amy deals with those bobbles and trims and features them prominently in her work.
